Emilio Mwai Kibaki, sometimes known as Mwai Kibaki, was a Kenyan politician who served as the country’s third President from December 2002 until April 2013.
From 1978 until 1988, he was Kenya’s fourth Vice-President, serving alongside President Daniel Arap Moi for ten years. He was born in Gatuyaini, Kenya, on November 15, 1931, and passed away at the age of 90.
His cause of death has not yet been revealed. President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kenya’s current president, confirmed Mr. Kibaki’s death on Friday, April 22, 2022, in the early hours of the morning.
He was a father of five children, three boys, and two girls, and he was married. He had four children with Lucy Kibaki, his first and only known wife, and one child with Mary Wambui, whom he allegedly married under customary law.
Esther is the family’s lone female member, and she is claimed to now reside in Nyeri. She told KTN reporters that she used to look after her younger brother Kibaki and that she still recalls the memories, despite the fact that she now lives in a tiny compound in a wooden hut.
Mwai Kibaki has two brothers, Nderitu and Mwai Kibaki. He was the older brother of the previous president, who had spent his whole life as a farmer. Nderitu died in 2015, at the age of 88, after collapsing on his way to the restroom. He was thought to be suffering from pneumonia.
Githinji died on October 21st of last year. He was the late President Kibaki’s half-brother. However, the former head of state did not attend the funeral, and his director of communication provided no reason. Unlike Philip Murithi’s siblings, there is no information about him.
