It’s every coach’s dream to quickly earn six figures with guaranteed money. The head coach of the New York Jets, Robert Saleh, is making $5 million dollars in 2017, which is more than the salary of plenty of veteran coaches in the NFL.
At just 39 years old and just one year of coaching experience under his belt with the San Francisco 49ers, Saleh was a bit of an underdog in getting this job. He’ll have to prove he belongs in the big leagues when he runs the practice field.
Robert Saleh was born on July 23, 1980, in Lebanon. He is currently a coach of the NFL team New York Jets as defensive coordinator.
Saleh took a circuitous route up the coaching ladder before landing in the NFL. He played linebacker for San Jose State, then went into coaching and had stints with Robertsdale, Alabama; Cincinnati; and the 49ers before he landed on Chip Kelly’s staff as defensive quality control coach.
