Robert Saleh, a first-year coach with the New York Jets, spent four seasons as a defensive coordinator with the 49ers before joining the jets and he Is in for a tough job with New York.

At just 39 years old and just one year of coaching experience under his belt with the San Francisco 49ers, Saleh was a bit of an underdog in getting this job. He’ll have to prove he belongs in the big leagues when he runs the practice field.

Robert Saleh was born on July 23, 1980, in Lebanon. He is currently a coach of the NFL team New York Jets as defensive coordinator.


Saleh took a circuitous route up the coaching ladder before landing in the NFL. He played linebacker for San Jose State, then went into coaching and had stints with Robertsdale, Alabama; Cincinnati; and the 49ers before he landed on Chip Kelly’s staff as defensive quality control coach.
