How old is Sergey Lavrov?
Sergey Lavrov is 71 years old. He was born on March 21, 1950
Lavrov was born in Moscow to an Armenian father from Tbilisi and a Russian mother from Noginsk. His mother was a member of the Soviet Foreign Trade Ministry.
Lavrov earned a silver medal in high school. He intended to enroll in either the National Research Nuclear University or the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology because physics was his favorite class,
but instead, he enrolled in the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and graduated in 1972.
Lavrov studied international relations at the MGIMO during his studies. Soon after, he mastered Sinhalese, Sri Lanka’s only official language at the time, as well as Dhivehi, the Maldives’ official language.
Furthermore, Lavrov studied English and French but has remarked that he is unable to communicate well in French.
After being accepted to the university, Lavrov was assigned to a student construction brigade that was erecting the Ostankino Tower for a month.
Lavrov also worked with his university’s student construction brigades in Khakassia, Tuva, and the Russian Far East during his summer holidays.
Each semester, Lavrov and his classmates put on theatre plays that were ultimately shown on the university’s main stage. Lavrov married during his third year of studies.
