The highly successful South Korean show has been renewed for a second season, according to Netflix. “Squid Game” is a fictional South Korean drama in which participants in desperate need of money compete in hazardous children’s games in order to earn cash rewards.
The main character in “Squid Game,” Seong Gi-hun, is a divorced gambler who entered the competition for a large prize. According to director Hwang Dong-message, hyuk’s Gi-hun and the mysterious Front Man will return in the second season.
“The man in the suit with ddakji might come returning,” according to the letter, and we’ll also meet Cheol-Su, Young-boyfriend. “Last year, the first season of ‘Squid Game’ took 12 years to bring to life. However, ‘Squid Game’ only took 12 days to become the most popular Netflix series ever,” Hwang adds.
Now, on June 12, 2022, Netflix, the leading streaming service, stated that the second season of the show Squid Game will be released soon. Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator, writer, and director of Squid Game told Vanity Fair that the movie has been projected that it will be released in late 2023 or early 2024.
The acclaimed director thanked viewers for loving the show, which only premiered 12 years after it was planned, in a letter uploaded on Netflix’s social media accounts late Sunday night.
