Toby Keith is an American country music singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. Known professionally by his given names, Keith released his first four studio albums—1993’s Toby Keith, 1994’s Boomtown, 1996’s Blue Moon, and 1997’s Dream Walkin’, plus a Greatest Hits package—for various divisions of Mercury Records before leaving Mercury in 1998.
Carolyn Joan (née Ross) and Hubert K. Covel, Jr. welcomed him to the world in Clinton, Oklahoma. A sibling and a sibling are in his family. Before moving to Moore, Oklahoma (an Oklahoma City suburb), the family lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where Keith was in elementary school for a short time.
He used to spend the summers at Fort Smith with his grandma before they moved to Moore. Keith was fascinated by the musicians who performed at Billie Garner’s Supper Club, which his grandmother operated in Fort Smith.
He worked as a waiter at the supper club, but he soon found himself performing on the bandstand. He was eight years old when he received his first guitar. In high school, Keith was a defensive end for the football team at Highland West Junior High and Moore High School in Moore.
Toby Keith Spouse: Who is Toby Keith’s Wife Tricia Lucus?
The wife of country singer Toby Keith, Tricia Lucas Covel, originally caught his eye in a nightclub in Oklahoma in 1981, when they were both 19 years old.
After dating for three years, the couple married on March 24, 1984, and have been together ever since. Toby and Tricia married and adopted Shelley, Tricia’s daughter, and then welcomed Krystal and Stelen into their family.
Keith worked in the oil fields for $50,000 a year while simultaneously dabbling in music in the early days of his marriage, and the pair struggled financially.
The future star made the bold decision to pursue a music career as the oil business experienced a downturn.
