A number of Miss McLeod’s close family members, including her father and brother, sat in the courtroom while friends watched the proceedings via a video link from an adjacent court.
During the hearing, Judge Robert Linford informed him that he would be given a life sentence in jail, adding, “The only question will be the minimum time of imprisonment.” Ackland was remanded in jail and will be sentenced on May 19, according to the court.
