Kurt Zouma is a French professional footballer who plays center-back for West Ham United in the Premier League and for the France national team. Zouma began his professional career at Saint-Étienne, where he made his professional debut at the age of 16 and won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2013.
Kurt has been sentenced to 180 hours of unpaid work after a video was uploaded of him beating and slapping a cat in the home. The West Ham footballer has been handed a 12-month community service order and has been banned from keeping cats for five years. He was also made to pay almost £9,000 as fines in court for the offense.
The video which was taken in February was done by his brother Yoan Zouma, Kurt’s younger brother. Yoan who is currently 24 has admitted to the abetting and carrying out the vicious act along with his brother. He was also given 140 hours of community service and has been banned from keeping cats for five years just like his brother.
Zouma, 27, has admitted to causing unnecessary harm and intentional suffering to a protected animal by kicking it in the abdomen and hitting it on the head last week at the Thames Magistrates Court Last week.
The court was informed that only five Snapchat accounts viewed the video on Yoan Zouma’s account where he has 80 followers before it was deleted a few minutes after.
