Henny Vrienten was a well-known Dutch musician and a songwriter who was born July 27, 1948, in Hilvarenbeek, Netherlands. He died on April 25, 2022, at the age of 73. Henny began his music career in the late 1960s
He is known to have released his first single, Ruby Carmichael somewhere in the 1970s as well as his debut solo album, Paul Santos, which he recorded with US producer Tom Salisbury.
Henny worked with singer-songwriter Boudewijn de Groot in the studio and also performed on stage with him. In 1975, whiles recording the album Waar ik woon en wie ik ben, Henny met keyboard player Ernst Jansz and drummer Johnny Lodewijks.
They decided to form a reggae band which they named the Rumbones. The band was led by the vocals of Frenchman Cris Lester. The band split in 1977 after going on musical tours for about two months.
