Since 2016, Joe Alwyn has been in a relationship with American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. He has been referenced in much of Swift’s music since then, including on her albums Reputation (2017), Lover (2019), Folklore, and Evermore (both 2020). Alwyn stated he finds it “flattering” that Swift writes songs about him.

At the City of London School, he received his education. He secretly wanted to be an actor and joined the National Youth Theatre when he was in his late teens, despite being an “introverted” child.

At the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, he acted in two student productions while studying English literature and drama at the University of Bristol. He went on to the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to pursue a BA in acting after graduating in 2012.
