Lucy Jane Briers is a well-known English actress who was born on August 19, 1967. Her acting credits span the stages of cinema, theatre, and television, and include parts in the comedies Pride & Prejudice (1995) and Game On.

Briers was born on August 19th, 1967 in the neighbourhood of Hammersmith, which is located in London. She was born into the entertainment industry as the daughter of actors Richard Briers and Ann Davies.

Even when she was young, she had the ambition to have a career in show business. After completing her education at St. Paul’s Girls’ School in London (1978–1985) and Lancaster University (where she majored in theatre and sculpture),

Briers went on to complete a three-year acting program at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and the National Youth Theatre.  Briers is a multi-talented artist who can also play the piano and the flute.

During the BBC’s Pride and Prejudice television adaptation, Brier portrayed Mary Bennet (1995). Since 2001, she has voiced the documentary The Riddle of Pompeii, as well as Nurses and Ladette to Lady, a television series.
