David Wilson, professionally called Davie Wilson was a famous footer from Scotland. Davie played in international games and after he retired from football, he was made a coach.
Davie was born on January 10, 1939, in Glasgow in the United Kingdom. He died at the age of 85 on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. The cause of his death has not been revealed yet.
Davie Wilson Life And Career
Davie started playing football as a teenager. He had wanted to play in the local Junior club Cambuslang Rangers but they rejected him for being too small. Davie then started his professional career at Baillieston.
The Rangers soon heard of his skills on the field and decided to sign him. That was in 1956. He made his first professional team debut on 2 January 1957. That year, he was chosen by his team to play in European matches. He played enough games which earned him a League winner’s medal in 1959.
Davie was a frequent goal scorer as he scored a lot of goals for his team which helped the Rangers to reach the semi-finals of the European Cup and also win the Scottish Cup. Again, Davie helped the Rangers win the Scottish Football League and the Scottish League Cup the season after they won the Scottish Cup.
