Mithali Raj, full name Mithali Dorai Raj is a former cricket player and was the former captain of the Indian women’s national cricket team. Mithali was born on December 3, 1982, in Jodhpur in India to parents Dorai and Leela Raj.

For her educational background, she went to Keyes High School for Girls in Hyderabad after which he continued at Kasturba Gandhi Junior College for Women in Secunderabad.

Murali has played for the Supernovas and Velocity in the Women’s T20 Challenge and has also played in all three cricket formats for India, Test, One Day and T20. When she was just 14 years old, she was named among the probable in the 1997 Women’s Cricket World Cup.

At age 16, she made her One Day International debut and scored unbeaten 114 runs against Ireland. Mithali made her Test debut in the 2001 and 2002 cricket seasons against South Africa at Lucknow. She has been honoured with several awards, both nationally and internationally.

Some of these awards include the Wisden Leading Woman Cricketer in the World in 2017, the Padma Shri in 2015 and the Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna in 2021 just to mention a few. In June 2022, Mithali announced that she will be retiring from all forms of international cricket.
