Art collector, businesswoman, and fashionista, Dasha Zhukova is a 36-year-old from the Russian city of Saint Petersburg.

She is the daughter of Russian oil mogul Alexander Zhukov and molecular scientist Yelena Zhukova, who met while working as a molecular scientist.

Her parents divorced when she was ten years old, and she and her mother went to Houston, and eventually Los Angeles, in the United States of America.

She met Roman Abramovich in 2005, while he was married to his second wife, Irina Vyacheslavovna Malandina, during a New Year’s Eve party hosted by her father, according to reports.

In 2008, she married Marat Safin, a Russian tennis star who she had been seeing at the time. Their marriage came shortly after Mr. Abramovich’s second divorce was finalized.

In the years that followed, they raised two children, Aaron (now eight) and Leah Lou (now four), as well as co-founded the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow and the New Holland Island cultural center in Saint Petersburg.

The pair has maintained a reputation for secrecy throughout their marriage and even tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2008.
