She is also known to host various sports events like the Super Bowl and the Masters. She is known to have hosted previously an NBA Countdown on ESPN and ABC for a period of four seasons which ended in the year 2017.
Her early life reveals that she was born in Panama, Canal Zone. Steele is the daughter of Gary and Mona (O’Neil) Steele. She is known to be an Irish and Italian descent. Sage Steele was born into an American Army family living in the Panama Canal Zone. She is a graduate and product of Indiana University Bloomington in the year 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in sports communication.
She began her broadcasting career from 1995 to 1997. Her first television sports reporting job was at WSBT-TV, the CBS affiliate in South Bend, Indiana. She moved on to CBS affiliate WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 1997 to 1998 as the weekend morning sports anchor and weekday reporter.
Steele was suspended on October 5, 2021, by ESPN for remarks she reportedly made on Jay Cutler’s September 29 podcast about COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
