Uziyah Garcia was among the 19 elementary pupils shot dead by an 18-year-old shooter, Salvador Ramos, who opened fire inside the school.  The incident happened on Tuesday, May 24, claiming 21 lives (2 teachers and 19 pupils). May their souls find rest in perfect peace.

Manny Renfro, a grandfather, said he found out on Tuesday that his grandson, eight-year-old Uziyah Garcia, was one of the school massacre victims.

Mr. Renfro called his grandson the “sweetest young kid he’d ever known.”

“I’m not saying that just because he’s my grandson.”

Mr. Renfro recalls the sweet times they enjoyed together when the eight-year-old last visited him in San Angelo during his school holidays.

“I began teaching him to pass patterns as we began throwing the football together. He was a quick small child who could catch a ball with ease “Mr. Renfro said.

“There were some plays that I’d call that he’d recall and do just as we had prepared.”
