Biography
Anna Sorokin was born on January 23, 1991, in Domodedovo, and is a Russian-German fraudster who has been convicted of fraud. Between 2013 and 2017, while residing in the United States, she purported to be a wealthy German princess by going by the name of Anna Delvey in order to scam banks, hotels, and wealthy contacts, among other things.
The following year, she was found guilty of various crimes of attempted grand larceny, larceny in the second degree, and theft of services in connection with these offenses. Netflix is developing a television adaption of her story, titled Inventing Anna, based on her work.
Sorokin was born in Domodedovo, a working-class suburb southeast of Moscow, where he was raised by his mother and father. A daughter, she was one of two children born to her parents. Sorokin’s Father was a Truck driver and her mother was a Convenience store owner before becoming a housewife.
She was later described as “great” and “powerful” by another Russian classmate, but she also had the “ability to easily offend.” In 2007, when Anna was sixteen, the family moved to Germany. Eschweiler students characterized her as shy and having a hard time learning German, and she attended the girls’ gymnasium there.
