Dustin Johnson is an American professional golfer. He has won two major championships, the 2016 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club with a 4-under-par score of 276 and the 2020 Masters Tournament with a record score of 268, 20-under-par.
At the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in February 2010, Johnson beat former world number one David Duval and two-time PGA Tour champion J. B. Holmes with a birdie on the 18th hole to win his title for the second time.
He fired 71-70-66 to take a three-shot lead over Graeme McDowell at the 2010 U.S. Open, following up his Pebble Beach success. In Sunday’s final pairing, Johnson got off to a bad start and couldn’t recover; he shot an 82 and finished tied for seventh place (McDowell won the championship).
Johnson had a one-shot lead going into the final hole of the 2010 PGA Championship final round. Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymer appeared to have bogeyed the hole, which would have put him in a three-hole playoff for first place.
Due to his grounding his club in the bunker penalty, he was forced into a tie for fifth place. Kaymer came out on top in the end. Johnson ended his streak of bad luck at the BMW Championship in September, the third FedEx Cup playoff event of the season.
His fourth PGA Tour victory and his first in a FedEx Cup playoff event, respectively, were significant achievements for Johnson. On the PGA Tour, he ranked fourth at the end of the 2010 season.
