Andrew John Leonard Fletcher was an English keyboard player, musician, DJ, and founding member of the electronic band Depeche Mode. In 2020, Fletcher and his band were formally made members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Fletcher began his career at the age of 15 in the year 1977, that was when punk rock was new in the music industry. He became interested in this genre of music and formed a band ‘No Romance’ along with his former schoolmate Vince Clarke in China which unfortunately did not last long.
The band founder and musician passed away in the early hours of yesterday, May,26,2022 at the age of 60. It is reported that he died of natural causes in his home. He is being succeded by his widowed wife Grainne Fletcher and their two children.
Fletcher was born to parents Joy Fletcher Fand John Fletcher on July 9, 1960, in Nottingham, England. His father John was an engineer and passed away in 2009 after a short illness. Fletcher was the eldest of four children and when he was two years old, his family moved from Nottingham to Basildon where he was raised.
There is not much information about Fletcher’s father except his name since he was not a very popular person and Fletcher did not mention much about him in public.
