Christopher Wallace is a broadcast journalist from the United States.
He is known for his harsh and wide-ranging interviews, for which he is frequently likened to his father, journalist Mike Wallace of 60 Minutes.
He has worked as a correspondent, moderator, and anchor for CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox News over his 50-year career in journalism.
According to a 2018 study, he is one of America’s most trusted TV news anchors.
Wallace has three Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, a George Polk Award, the duPont-Columbia University Silver Baton Award, and a Paul White lifetime achievement award to his credit.
During the 1964 Republican National Convention, Wallace worked as an assistant to Walter Cronkite as a teenager.
He worked as a national correspondent for The Boston Globe after graduating from Harvard University, where his boss regarded him as an “aggressive and ambitious reporter.”
At the 1972 Republican National Convention, he realized that television had a major impact on the news, so he decided to devote his career to broadcast journalism, first working for NBC (1975–1988) as a White House correspondent with Lesley Stahl and Sam Donaldson.
Additionally, Wallace hosted Meet the Press and anchored NBC Nightly News. ABC hired him as an anchor for Primetime Thursday and Nightline from 1989 to 2003.
During his tenure at NBC, Wallace was the only host and moderator of more than one of the country’s most prominent political Sunday morning talk shows.
On Fox News Sunday from 2003 until 2021, Wallace interviewed officials like Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Vladimir Putin and gained acclaim for his interviews.
