2022 Grammys: Who Won Best R&B Performance?
Jazmine Sullivan and Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak) have won the 2022 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance.
The two compteted with “Pick Up Your Feelings” and “Leave the Door Open.” H.E.R.’s “Damage,” Snoh Aalegra’s “Lost You”, and Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” to grab the envious award.
This is Sullivan’s first Grammy win and 15th nomination. “Pick Up Your Feelings” is also up for Best R&B Song, and Heaux Tales is nominated for Best R&B Album at tonight’s ceremony.
Jazmine Sullivan is an American singer-songwriter. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, her debut album, Fearless, was released in 2008 to commercial and critical success.
She began singing at an early age. Jazmine got signed by Jive Records at the age of 15 and recorded an album, which was never released, and she was eventually dropped from the label.
Jazmine Sullivan wrote and recorded with producers Cool & Dre titled “Say I” was given to Dre’s then-girlfriend Christina Milian for her third album, So Amazin’.
Eventually, the song received massive airplay and garnered great streams. It became the lead single, peaking at number 13 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, as well as number 21 on the Hot 100.
Along the way, she got her breakthrough song dubbed “Need U Bad’ which was released in May 2008.
