Albert Aroldis Chapman de la Cruz (born February 28, 1988) is a Cuban-American MLB pitcher. He formerly played for the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, and Holguin in the Cuban National Series. Because he bats and throws left-handed, Chapman is nicknamed “The Cuban Missile.” Chapman pitched for Holguin and the Cuban national baseball team. He left Cuba in 2009 and joined with the Reds. Chapman debuted in MLB that year.
He was nominated to four consecutive National League All-Star teams from 2012 to 2015, winning the MLB Delivery Man of the Month Award for July 2012. The Reds traded Chapman to the Yankees in 2015, who then moved him to the Cubs in 2016. With the Cubs, Chapman won Game 7 in 2016. After 2016, he joined the Yankees.

At 105.1 mph (169.1 km/h), Chapman holds the record for the fastest recorded pitch speed in MLB history, as well as the Guinness World Record for the fastest baseball pitch.
