Originally from Crosby, Minnesota, Nick Paul Anderson is an American professional baseball pitcher who now plays for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball.

He was born on July 5, 1990, and grew up in Crosby, Minnesota (MLB). He was formerly a member of the Miami Marlins baseball team.

Anderson attended Brainerd High School in Brainerd, Minnesota, where he graduated with honors. He attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota, for three years (2009–2011), where he competed in college baseball.

For his senior season in 2012, he transferred to NAIA Mayville State University in Mayville, North Dakota, where he played football. His senior year, he appeared in 12 games (11 starts) and went 5-2 with a 1.95 earned run average.

Anderson was taken by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 32nd round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft.

He did not sign with the Brewers and instead spent three seasons in the Frontier League, an independent baseball organization.

In 2013 and 2014, he was a member of the Rockford RiverHawks/Aviators, and in 2015, he played for the Frontier Greys.

During his time at St. Cloud State University, Anderson was charged with DUI and spent eight days in jail on an assault charge involving a baseball bat and alcohol in 2010 and 2011, respectively.

He was sentenced to probation and ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and anger management training.
