Tommy Romero is a baseball player who was born in the year 1997 in America he is with the Tampa Bay Rays in the American Major League Baseball league.

The 24-year-old right-hander is one of the minor leagues’ most undervalued pitchers. Last season, he pitched in Triple-A with a 3.18 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts in 62.1 innings, and he’ll likely spend the majority of next season in the big, either as a starter or reliever.

According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Romero was added to the Rays’ 40-man roster. Tampa Bay sent outfielder Denard Span and closer Alex Colome to the Mariners for right-handed pitching prospects Andrew Moore and Tommy Romero in an unexpected transaction.

Romero’s fastball used to sit around 90 mph, but now sits around 92-94 mph with good movement and excels at throwing it in the top of the plate.

After winning five of his five starts and earning an ERA of 0.31, he was named Triple-A East Pitcher of the Month for September. With the Durham Bulls, Romero was 7-2 with a 3.18 ERA with 70 strikeouts in 62 13 innings in 12 starts.
