Matt Wisler stands at a height of 1.91 m.
Major League Baseball pitcher Matthew Wisler, nicknamed Wis, is an American professional baseball player with the Tampa Bay Rays of the National League.
Out of high school in 2011, the San Diego Padres signed him to a minor league contract. He made his Major League Baseball debut in 2015.
He was previously a member of the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Padres, Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins, and San Francisco Giants of the National League, among others.
Wisler was born in Bryan, Ohio, to Bob and Sue Wisler, and is the youngest of their three children.
Bryan High School, which is located in his hometown, was his collegiate institution. Over the course of his senior season, Wisler went 6–1, registering a 0.17 earned run average and striking out 71 batters in 42 innings of work, while allowing only 13 hits and seven walks.
He had signed a national letter of intent to play college baseball with the Ohio State Buckeyes, but he decided to sign with the San Diego Padres instead.
Wisler was recognized for his changeup in the minor levels. During his debut season with the Braves, though, he began to mix his fastball with a slider instead, only throwing his changeup on 8.5 percent of deliveries.
