Ford Proctor, an American professional baseball catcher with the Tampa Bay Rays, was born on December 4, 1996, in Beaumont, Texas.

In Beaumont, Texas, Proctor attended Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School.

He was picked in the 40th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Kansas City Royals, but he did not sign and instead played collegiate baseball at Rice University.

In 2017, he was a member of the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League’s summer collegiate baseball team. The Tampa Bay Rays selected Proctor in the third round of the 2018 MLB draft.

The Hudson Valley Renegades were Proctor’s first professional club. He hit.256 with one home run and 24 RBIs in sixty games.

He hit.290/.383/.402 with six home runs, 53 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases in 121 games with the Bowling Green Hot Rods in 2019.

Proctor hit.244/.381/.419 with 12 home runs and 47 RBIs for the Montgomery Biscuits in 2021.

After the 2021 season, the Rays signed Proctor to a 40-man roster.
