Is Jackie Bradley Jr Coming Back to the Red Sox?
Jackie Bradley Jr is back to the Red Sox on a year contract.
Jackie Bradley Jr. will return to Boston in exchange for outfielder Hunter Renfroe, according to a deal reached between the Sox and the Brewers.
The Red Sox will also receive two Minor League infielders in the form of David Hamilton and Alex Binelas, who were ranked 16th and 17th among Brewers prospects by MLB Pipeline, respectively. Binelas plays the corners and Hamilton is a middle infielder.
Bradley struggled mightily at the plate in ’21 after signing with the Brewers as a free agent during Spring Training.
Bradley was drafted by the Red Sox in 2011 and spent six seasons patrolling center field as well as anybody in team history.
Bradley hit.163/.236/.261 with six homers and 29 RBIs in 428 plate appearances for the NL Central champions in 134 games.
Bradley is expected to bounce back in familiar circumstances, according to the Red Sox.
Bloom expressed his optimism by saying, “We’re certainly optimistic.”
“This is Jackie’s home, and while we recognize that he had a difficult year, I believe we can all agree that his ability is greater than what he demonstrated this year.” Coming back here, I believe we’ll be able to bring him back to doing a lot of the things he used to do.
