How old is Jeisson Rosario?

Jeisson Rosario is 22 years old. He was born on October 22, 1999.

According to Sox Prospects, Rosario was signed by the Padres as a major J2 signing out of the Dominican Republic, receiving a $1.85 million bonus.

Rosario, who was born in the Dominican Republic, is one of the Padres’ greatest defensive center fielders in the organization.

Offensively, he hit .404 in the Rookie-level Arizona League last summer, and this year at low-class A Fort Wayne, he hit .271/.368/.353 with 18 stolen bases and a walk rate close to 13%.

Rosario, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 191 pounds, is well renowned for his Ozzie Smith-style backflips following team wins, which he learned from his circus-loving older brother.

But that’s only one of his pranks. He bats and throws lefthanded, but he is ambidextrous.

It doesn’t take much to convince Geaney to get out his phone and display videos of Rosario taking grounders at second base and throwing righthanded.

He appears to glide to balls anywhere in the outfield defensively, but he echoes what all of his coaches want to hear: the importance of not only doing something great once but doing it consistently.

Rosario has the potential to grow into a below-average center fielder if he gains strength and displays some power, as well as if his hitting tool improves.
