Alexander Brady Verdugo is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Boston Red Sox in the United States. Verdugo was drafted in the second round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In 2017, he made his Major League Baseball debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the 2017 World Baseball Classic, he was a part of the Mexican national team.
Verdugo went to Tucson, Arizona’s Sahuaro High School. Verdugo was drafted in the second round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He signed with the Dodgers instead of Arizona State University, where he had committed to play collegiate baseball.
He hit .347 in 49 games with the Arizona League Dodgers and was named to the Arizona League All-Star team and the Baseball America Rookie League All-Star team.
To begin 2015, he was sent to the Midwest League’s Class-A Great Lakes Loons. After hitting .295 in 101 games, he was named to the post-season all-star team.
Verdugo was also promoted late in the season to the California League’s Advanced-Class A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, where he appeared in 23 games and batted .385.
On August 27, he also hit for the cycle against the Lancaster JetHawks. He was named minor league player of the year by the organization.
