Alberto Pujols’s full name is José Alberto Pujols Alcántara. He is a professional baseball player who plays as a first baseman and designated hitter for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

Alberto began his amateur career playing at the Fort Osage High School where he was a student. He was named an All-State athlete twice throughout his time in high school. He graduated from high school in December 1998 after which he earned a baseball scholarship to attend Maple Woods Community College.

The St. Louis Cardinals drafted him out of college during the 13th round of the 402nd overall pick in the 1999 MLB draft. He signed with them after agreeing to a $60,000 signing bonus.

Alberto signed a 10-year contract worth $254 million with the Los Angeles Angels in December 2011. In May 2021, he signed a one-year major league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In March 2022, Alberto made it known that the 2022 season was going to be his last season after he signed a one-year contract with the St Louis Cardinals.
