Unfortunately, after passing away on April 25, 2022, at the age of 73, singer and composer Henny Vrienten’s cause of death is shrouded in mystery.
MOJO, the concert promoter, verified the tragic news today. “He was a lovely, loving father and husband; a clever, educated man with a razor-sharp sense of humor and language,” his family continued in the statement.
“It will be a private funeral.” The family requests privacy and asks that no further information be released.”
Henny Vrienten Cause Of Death
Although the cause of death has not been determined, the singer and composer had been unwell for years. Doe Maar’s farewell tour was canceled in 2021 owing to the singer’s health problems.
There was no news at the time concerning his health situation.
So, we know that Doe Maar was supposed to start a farewell tour last autumn, but it was canceled due to Van Vrienten’s illness; this has prompted some to wonder if the illness was ultimately the cause of his death.
Vrienten is survived by his wife Gala Veldhoen, two boys from a previous relationship, and two sons and a daughter from a previous relationship.
Since 1980, Vrienten has been Doe Maar’s favorite singer. Since 1 Dag Of 2 (32 years), Is Dit Alles, and Smoorverliefd were among the band’s most well-known tunes.
The band disbanded in 1984, however there have been multiple reunions since then, the most recent being in 2000.
Left Luggage, Abeltje, The Discovery of Heaven, Het Klokhuis, and Sesame Street were among the films and television programs for which the musician composed music. In addition, he wrote 24 songs for the show Petticoat.
In addition to singing, the singer also composed music for a variety of films and documentaries.
Vrienten was the face of Doe Maar, but he also released a number of solo recordings. The first, under the pseudonym Paul Santos, was released in 1977. He also recorded a duet with Herman Brood in 1984 called If You Win.
