Naomi Judd was an actress and singer from the United States. In 1983, she and her daughter Wynonna created the Judds, a country music duo. The day following her death in 2022, they were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
On January 11, 1946, Judd was born in Ashland, Kentucky, to Pauline Ruth and Charles Glen Judd. Her father was the proprietor of a petrol station.
Brian, her 17-year-old brother, died of leukemia in 1965. Christina Ciminella (later Wynonna Judd), Naomi Judd’s first child, was born when she was 18 years old.
Judd raised both daughters as a single parent after the birth of her daughter Ashley (April 1968), who went on to become a film and stage actress, and the end of her marriage to Michael Ciminella.
She first attended nursing school at California’s College of Marin while living in nearby Lagunitas, California, and later began a successful singing career with her daughter Wynonna.

Naomi Judd, whose Grammy-winning country duo The Judds were made famous by their family harmonies, has died. She was 76 years old at the time.
Wynonna and Ashley, her children, revealed her death in a statement to The Associated Press on Saturday.
“We had a tragedy today as sisters. We had to say goodbye to our lovely mother due to a mental illness “According to the statement.
“We’re completely shattered. We’re dealing with a lot of loss right now, but we know that as much as we loved her, so did the rest of the world. We’re in uncharted area.”

According to a statement released on behalf of her husband and fellow singer Larry Strickland, Naomi Judd died near Nashville, Tennessee. It requested privacy as the family grieves and said no further details regarding her death will be disclosed.
