Adalberto Mondesí is an American professional baseball player of Dominican descent who plays the position of shortstop for the Kansas City Royals baseball team of the Major League Baseball(MLB). He was born July 27, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, the United States to father, Raúl Mondesí and mother, Ada Mondesi

Adalberto began his professional career in 2011 when he signed with the Kansas City Royals. He received a signing bonus of $2 million. In 2012, he made his professional debut with the Idaho Falls Chukars of the Rookie-level Pioneer League

During the 2013 baseball season, Adalberto played with the Lexington Legends of the Class A South Atlantic League. He was ranked by Baseball America as the team’s third-best prospect before the 2014 baseball season.

He was added to Royal’s active roster for the 2015 World Series game. He made his MLB debut that day making him the first player since Bug Holliday in 1885 to make his major league debut during a championship series.

Unfortunately in 2021, he got a strain in his right oblique muscle so he was placed on the injured list. This caused him to play in only seven games in May.  He got injured again by straining his left hamstring so he was placed on the injured list again. He returned to the games in September that year.
