How Good is Alek Manoah?

The Blue Jays selected Alek Manoah, the 11th overall pick in the 2019 draft. He was called up by the Blue Jays in late May, and on May 27th, he made his debut (game one of a doubleheader in New York against the Yankees).

He pitched six scoreless innings for us, which was a great start to his career. His WAR is 2.8 according to Baseball Reference. He’s worth $16.1 million to the Blue Jays, according to FanGraphs 2.0.

Alek’s BABIP was.246, which was a very good number. He stranded 76.6 percent of the runners he authorized.
