Austin Davis Current Team: Where is Austin Davis Now?
Austin Davies plays for the Boston Red Sox in the MLB. He has been with the team since 2021.
In exchange for utility man Michael Chavis, the Pittsburgh Pirates traded left-handed relief pitcher Austin Davis to the American League East Division-leading Boston Red Sox.
The deal was disclosed about 30 minutes after the 4:00 p.m. ET trade deadline had passed, and it was accompanied by a word of another Pirates transaction.
In 2020, Davis was with three teams, one of which was the Pittsburgh Pirates. He pitched in 15 games for the Pirates, going 0-1, with a 4.73 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 13.1 innings thrown.
The Red Sox have four bullpen injuries and added Hansel Robles and Austin Davis from Minnesota on deadline day.
Throughout his MLB career, the 28-year-old lefty has struggled. It came as a bit of a surprise to the Pittsburgh Pirates that they were able to get anything in return for him.
In 19 appearances with Boston from mid-June until the end of the regular season, Davis posted a 1–1 record with a 4.86 earned run average while striking out 17 batters in 16+2/3 innings pitched.
Fans should be excited to see what Davis can do for a Red Sox club that is shaping up beautifully in 2022.
