Austin Wade Meadows is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays in the United States. He formerly played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball.

While growing up in Grayson, Ga., Meadows was a member of the same baseball team as Clint Frazier. The Grayson High School baseball team reached the Georgia Class 6A State semi-finals as a junior with a .390 average and 19 stolen bases in addition to four home runs and 28 RBIs.

There were two preseason All-American teams for Meadows, and he was an All-American in his last year of high school by hitting 535 with 14 doubles (one triple), four home runs, and 28 RBI.

Grayson College, where he was a teammate of Wayne Gallman and Robert Nkemdiche, had Meadows as a running back, wide receiver, and punter.

Meadows was regarded as one of the best prospects available in the 2013 MLB draft. The Pittsburgh Pirates selected him ninth overall in the first round of the draft.

Meadows had committed to play college baseball for the Clemson Tigers but instead elected to sign with the Pirates three weeks after the draft, collecting a $3,029,600 signing bonus.
