Is Bobbie Nelson Still Alive?
No! Bobby Nelson passed away on March 10, 2022. Nelson was 91 at the time of her death.
According to a family statement posted to Willie’s official Facebook account, “her elegancy, elegance, beauty, and talent made this world a better place.”
Nelson’s family said, “Our hearts are broken, and she will be profoundly missed.” “However, we are extremely fortunate to have had her in our lives. Please keep her family in your prayers and respect their privacy at this time.”
Nelson was the original member of Willie Nelson and Family Band, and she toured and recorded with her brother for more than 50 years.
The family had a musical ancestry. Bobbie and Willie were motivated to pick up instruments and seek a career in music by their grandparents, who raised them in Abbot, Texas.
Nelson, on the other hand, kept up her musical skills, earning a job as an organ demonstrator at the Hammond Organ Company right out of business school. She eventually became a pianist, performing in restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs.
“It was a fantastic thing,” she remarked, “because I was back to truly performing music, not simply demonstrating and selling organs.” “I was overjoyed to be able to sit down and play from the depths of my spirit.”
Hill Country Christmas, Bobbie’s collaboration with Willie, reached No. 60 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in 1997.
Audiobiography, her debut album, was released in 2007 by Justice Records and featured a dozen of her favorite songs. Willie sang and played guitar on two tunes.
She was most recently included on Willie Nelson’s Family Band’s 2021 CD The Willie Nelson Family (Legacy Recordings), a collection of country gospel-tinged tunes.
