Brendan McKay, full name Brendan Joel McKay is an American professional baseball pitcher and an appointed hitter for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He wears Jersey number 49 when on the field. The Tampa  Rays selected McKay during the first round of the 2017 MLB draft in the fourth overall selection.

He made his MLB debut on June 29, 2019, for the Tampa Bays Rays baseball team. McKay had his high school career in Blackhawk high school in Chippewa, Pennsylvania in the United States. He was a member of the baseball team for all four seasons of his high school career and also played one season of high school basketball.

McKay was named the Pennsylvania Gatorade Baseball Player of the year in both his junior and senior seasons. He had the opportunity to be drafted by the San Diego Padres baseball team during the 34th round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft but he did not sign and rather made a decision to attend the University of Louisville where he played college baseball.

He was born December 18, 1995, in Darlington, Pennsylvania, United States of America. He is not married and doesn’t have a child either.
