Daniel Vincent Tillo is a Kansas City Royals pitcher.

Tillo played football, basketball, and baseball at Sioux City North High School in Sioux City, Iowa. He had a 6-0 record and a 0.98 ERA as a junior in 2014.

After averaging 24.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game during his senior basketball season in 2015, he was awarded Iowa Mr. Basketball.

He was 5-1 with a 3.08 ERA and a.369 hitting average during his senior baseball season.

Because he was undecided about whether he wanted to play basketball or baseball in college, he did not commit to a college for either sport until June of his senior year, when he chose to play college baseball at the University of Kentucky.

He was picked in the 39th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft by the Minnesota Twins after his final year.

Tillo declined to sign with the Twins, citing his commitment to Kentucky. He only pitched 7+13 innings in his debut year of 2016.

He transferred to Iowa Western Community College after the season to be closer to home and to transition back to starting pitcher.

He went 5-1 with a 2.86 ERA in 44 innings in nine games as a sophomore and freshman at Iowa Western in 2017. (five starts).

He was selected in the third round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft by the Kansas City Royals following the season.
