Eliseo Mendoza Berrueto, the former governor of Coahuila, died on Tuesday at the age of 91 from pneumonia following heart surgery complications.
The current governor, Miguel Ángel Riquelme Sols, regretted his predecessor’s passing and declared that a posthumous memorial will be paid to him in the Government Palace.
Mendoza Berrueto, who reigned from December 1, 1987, to November 30, 1993, is survived by his wife, Lucila Ruiz Mzquiz, and their children from his previous marriage, Eliseo and Carla, as well as Federico Valente and Lucy Elisa (QPD).
He was a local deputy and president of the Managing Board in the LIX Legislature of the Congress of the State of Coahuila from 2012 to 2014 after governing Coahuila from 1987 to 1993.
Among his many economic and political publications are Apuntes Universitarios (1980), El Presidencialismo Mexicano (1996), Actitudes Revolucionarias, La Convención de Aguascalientes, and El Mundo del Comercio y la Competitividad.
Don Eliseo Mendoza Berrueto released his latest book “Una Larga Jornada” in March, an autobiography in which he shows about his profession and life, with the assistance of the author’s descendants, Dolores Quintanilla’s publishing business, and the State Government.
The former governor of Coahuila, Don Eliseo Mendoza Berrueto, died on Tuesday at the age of 91. His body will be veiled from the 20 hours of this May 18 in the chapels Renaissance of Fuenerales Martínez, and right there will be celebrated this Wednesday a mass of body present at 11: 30 hours. Subsequently, a tribute will be paid to him at the Government Palace headed by Governor Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís.
