Vladimir Zhirinovsky, full name Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky was a Russian politician and the leader of the populist Liberal Democratic Party in Russia. He was also known to be the source of many controversies in Russia as well as an advocate for Russia’s military actions against the West.
Zhirinovsky was born April 25, 1946, in Almaty in Kazakhstan to father, Volf Isaakovich Eidelshtein who was a Ukrainian Jew from Kostopil in western Ukraine and his mother, Alexandra Pavlovna. He grew up in Almaty and had most of his early life spent there. He finally moved from Almaty to Moscow in July 1964.
After moving to Moscow, he enrolled at Moscow State University (MSU) where he graduated with a degree from the Turkish Studies department and the Institute of Asian and African Countries. He graduated in 1969 after which he joined the military service in Tbilisi.
Zhirinovsky got seriously ill from COVID-19 and was hospitalized in February 2022. He was placed in a medically induced coma and received treatments that gave him some complications. Unfortunately, he died at the hospital on April 6 2022 as confirmed by his family.
