Heidi Suzanne Cruz (born August 7, 1972) is an American businesswoman who has been a managing director at Goldman Sachs since 2012.
Cruz completed her academic education at Claire McKenna College, the Université libre de Bruxelles, and Harvard Business School.
In 2000, she was an economic policy adviser to President George W. Bush’s presidential campaign, and she went on to occupy a variety of positions in the Bush administration, including working as an adviser to the Treasury Department and the National Security Council, among others.
She started working at Goldman Sachs in 2005 as a private wealth manager.
In 2001, she married Ted Cruz, who would later become a US Senator, and the couple had two children. During his 2016 presidential campaign, she took a leave of absence from her work to be his top fundraiser and surrogate.
