Jacob Steven Brentz is a professional baseball player known simply as Jake Brentz in Major League Baseball (MLB). Jake was born September 14, 1994, in Ballwin, Missouri and he completed his high school education at Parkway South High School located in Manchester, Missouri.
Jake was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 11th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft and he was signed unto the team on July 12, 2013. Two years after playing with the Jays, he was traded to the Seattle Mariners baseball team. In 2016 whiles still with the Mariners, he split the season into two and played in two minor league games.
In September 2016, the Mariners traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was with the Pirates till August 20, 2019, when he signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals organisation. After almost a year with the Royals, Jake was added to the Royals 60-man player pool, which is a replacement for the minor leagues due to the cancellation of the Minor League Baseball season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Royals invited Jake to their Spring Training in 2021. His contract was selected in April that year and he also made his MLB debut that month for the Royals.
