Jan Rot was a Dutch singer-songwriter who passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
He was well-known in the Netherlands for his numerous song translations, which included both popular and classic songs.
Rot was a multi-faceted artist who not only composed music but also wrote books, essays, and articles. It is expected that his eleventh book, 121 of the greatest songs, would be published in 2020.
In it, he explained the inspiration behind songs such as Summertime, White Christmas, and We’ll Meet Again, among others. He passed away at the age of 64.
He began a new professional path in 2000, first as a worldwide hit translator and interpreter, then as a repeater of classical music classics.
As a result of his change, of course, he rose to notoriety. Others have referred to him as a “virtuoso her-talker” with a gold record.
Roh’s wife was Daan Rot-de Launay, and they had children together. They were married from 2001 until his death in 2022.
