Jarren William Duran is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Boston Red Sox in the United States. He bats left-handed and throws right-handed, measuring 6 feet 2 inches and 200 pounds.

Duran graduated from Cypress High School in Cypress, California, and went on to play three seasons of college baseball at California State University, Long Beach, predominantly as a second baseman.

In the summer of 2017, he was a member of the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft by the Boston Red Sox.

Duran batted.357 in his debut professional season with the Lowell Spinners and Greenville Drive. On June 3, he was promoted to the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs after starting the 2019 season with the Class A Salem Red Sox.

Duran was placed at number 99 on Baseball America’s top 100 prospects list in mid-June. Duran was nominated to the 2019 All-Star Futures Game after going 1-for-2 in his first at-bat.

Duran was selected Baseball America’s High-A (Class A-Advanced) player of the year in mid-September, as well as the Red Sox minor league baserunner of the year.

Duran batted.303 with five home runs and 38 RBIs in 132 games with both Salem and Portland in 2019.
