Jeffrey Scott Springs, an American professional baseball pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball, was born on September 20, 1992. (MLB). He formerly played for the Texas Rangers and the Boston Red Sox in Major League Baseball.

In Belmont, North Carolina, Springs attended South Point High School. He played college baseball for the Mountaineers for four years (2012–2015) while earning a management degree at Appalachian State University.

Springs was selected in the 30th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers, and he signed a one-year contract worth $1,000.

Springs spent the first half of the season with the Spokane Indians and the second half with the Hickory Crawdads after signing. In 31 innings of work, he was 2–2 with a 2.61 ERA.

He pitched at two levels in 2016, going 1–1 with a 1.16 ERA in 18 games with the Hickory Crawdads and 2–2 with a 5.36 ERA in 13 games (9 starts) with the High Desert Mavericks.

Springs was traded to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for Sam Travis on January 15, 2020. Springs was optioned to the Pawtucket Red Sox of the Triple-A affiliate on March 26.
