Where is Jonathan Arauz?
Jonathan Arauz is with the Bolton Red Sox in MLB.
The Boston Red Sox picked Araz in the 2019 Rule 5 draft on December 12, 2019.
He debuted in Major League Baseball on July 24, 2020, against the Baltimore Orioles as a pinch hitter in the Red Sox’s first game of the 2020 season.
On July 30, he made his MLB debut against the New York Mets, and on August 10, against the Tampa Bay Rays, he got his first MLB hit.
Arauz hit .250 with one home run and nine RBIs in 25 games with the 2020 Red Sox. He played in the 2021 Caribbean Series for Panama, hitting .269 in six games after the 2020 season.
The Worcester Red Sox assigned Araz to Triple-A for the 2021 season. During May, July, and August, he was summoned up to Boston.
Araz was placed on COVID’s injured list on September 10th. On September 23, he was reassigned to Worcester after being activated.
Araz rallied the Red Sox after infielders Kiké Hernández and Christian Arroyo were placed on the COVID-19 disabled list at the start of the series.
Araz hit .185 (12-for-65) with three home runs and eight RBIs in 28 games for the Red Sox. In 68 games with Worcester, he batted.245 with six home runs and 30 RBIs.
