On May 18, 1996, Joshua Randol Fleming, a professional baseball pitcher with the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball, was born. (MLB). He made his MLB debut in August of that year.
At Columbia High School in Columbia, Illinois, Fleming pitched for the Columbia Eagles.
Fleming was drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 MLB draft by the Tampa Bay Rays out of Webster University. He joined the Princeton Rays that year and made his debut.
Fleming joined the Charlotte Stone Crabs in July and finished his rookie season with a 3–3 record and a 4.11 ERA. The Montgomery Biscuits voted Fleming MVP of the season after he went 2-1 with a 3.31 ERA in 21 games.
With the Durham Bulls, he concluded the season with a 5.14 ERA in four games.
Fleming was added to the Rays’ 60-man roster in July 2020.
After Rays starter Yonny Chirinos was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a ruptured UCL on August 21, Kevin Cash announced that Fleming will be brought up and make his MLB debut on August 23, against the Toronto Blue Jays.
