A student was sadly killed after being hit by a van as she exited a bus.
Lexi McDavid was killed on Princess Drive in Huyton, Merseyside, on Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a white Mercedes van.
At around 3.30 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to the site, and Lexi was transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where she died a short time later.
The van’s driver remained at the scene and is continuing to assist authorities with their investigation. They’re now asking for anyone who saw the crash or knows anything about it to contact them.
Serious collision investigation unit detective Sergeant Andy Roper of Merseyside Police said: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of Lexi, who died tragically young, and they are being supported by expert detectives.
“We’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or filmed anything on dashcam or other devices who has yet to come forward. Your information could be extremely useful to us in our inquiry.
“All information will be acted on, whether you come to us directly or anonymously through Crimestoppers.”
