A schoolgirl was killed after being struck by a Mercedes vehicle as she exited a bus, and police are appealing for witnesses. Lexi McDavid, from Huyton, near Liverpool, was critically hurt in yesterday’s collision with the white vehicle.
The 12-year-old was transported to Alder Hay Children’s Hospital, where she died later that night. The van’s driver waited at the scene of the collision, which occurred at 3.30 p.m. in Princess Drive in the town, and is assisting police with their investigations.
Merseyside Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of it to come forward.

McDavid died as a result of the injuries she sustained after the accident. Lexi McDavid was rushed to Alder Hey Hospital at 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, after being struck by a white Mercedes van as she alighted from a bus. The Huyton 12-year-old died a short time later.

Hundreds of people have paid their respects to a ‘beautiful angel’ who died after being hit by a van in Huyton. Flowers, candles, and written memorials have now been put at the accident site on Princess Drive.
On a wooden box packed with white and pink roses, one of the handwritten tributes reads: “Love you baby girl. Miss you so much, Angel”.
Lexi McDavid Funeral
There is no scheduled day for the funeral of McDavid yet. Her family is yet to bury the young Angel who passed away yesterday.
